Utah Elevated es el anuncio que te da la bienvenida cuando entras en coche en el estado de Utah; un territorio donde el paisaje se muestra sobredimensionado, esplendoroso y sobrecogedor. Drawing Elevated fue un proyecto que desarrollé durante una residencia de tres meses en Salt Lake City invitado por CUAC, Central Utah Art Center. Un trabajo que, aunque por motivos personales nunca llegué a realizar, materialicé en mi cuaderno negro. Grandes mapas abstractos -geométricos y orgánicos- esbozados a partir de formas encontradas en mis archivos, y de jugar con las proporciones y las medidas del espacio expositivo. Mi plan era delinearlos con papel de calco, grafito, barra litográfica y tiza blanca, casi imperceptible y solo visible por el polvo depositado en el suelo.

Utah Elevated is an advertisement that greets you when you arrive by car to the state of Utah; a place where the landscape is oversized, overpowering and overwhelming. Drawing Elevated was a project I developed during a three-month residency in Salt Lake City invited by CUAC, Central Utah Art Center. Though for personal reasons I never realized it, I did materialize it in my black notebook. Large abstract maps -geometric and organic- sketched using forms found in my archives, and playing with the proportions and measurements of the exhibition space. My plan was to draw them with tracing paper, graphite, grease pencil and white chalk, almost imperceptible and only visible in the dust settling on the floor.
