Desde tus años de universidad, etapa en la que arranca esta exposición y en la que Armando fue tu profesor, cada proyecto al que te has enfrentado lo has resuelto como parte de un proceso de experimentación y aprendizaje. Asumir, conquistar y dominar, para después volver a perderte. Un trabajo que parte de la apropiación de nuestro entorno más inmediato y se desarrolla a través del dibujo como herramienta cartográfica, de posicionamiento y apropiación; concebir la arquitectura como una maqueta sobre la que efectuar intervenciones efímeras, diseñar escenografías que se proyectan mentalmente, trabajar en un espacio que se despliega, se expande y se repliega al mismo tiempo, dibujar paisajes abstractos y metafóricos…
Otra de las constantes en todos estos años ha sido la importancia que concedes al dibujo como escritura conceptual generadora de ideas, y el marcado carácter procesual de tus proyectos. Un conjunto de propuestas que de alguna manera remiten entre sí una y otra vez, como si se propiciase el avance ficticio a través de la fuga infinita y abierta al enfrentar espejos paralelos.

Since your time at university, the period to which this exhibition can be traced back and when Armando was your lecturer, you resolved each project you took on as part of a process of experimentation and learning. Accept, conquer and dominate, only to then lose yourself again. A work that starts off from the appropriation of our most immediate environs and is developed through drawing as a cartographical tool for positioning and appropriation; to conceive architecture as a scale model on which to carry out ephemeral interventions, to design stage settings that are mentally projected, to work in a space which unfolds, expands and at once refolds, to draw abstract and metaphorical landscapes…
Another of the constants in all these years has been the importance you lend to drawing as a form of conceptual writing that generates ideas, and the strong process-based character of your projects. A set of proposals that somehow keep speaking to one another, as if it would bring about a fictitious advance through the infinite and open flight when parallel mirrors face each other.
Arquitectura y “Yo” es un work in progress, un proyecto que incide en la multidisciplinariedad de tu trabajo, y en la relación y el diálogo en el tiempo que se establecen entre las obras desplegadas en un mismo espacio, y con este como campo de experimentación. El título de la muestra hace referencia al «Yo», a ti, y al sujeto que representamos cada uno de nosotros, y a la relación de ambos con los espacios que habitamos.
El objetivo de esta exposición es realizar una revisión y una relectura abierta y relacional de una parte de tu producción entre 2003–2019. En concreto de esos trabajos conectados íntimamente con la arquitectura que los acoge, y que tienen al paisaje como proyección y prolongación de nosotros mismos y de lo construido. A ellos se sumarán una serie de intervenciones concebidas específicamente para este proyecto.
Architecture y «I» is a work in progress, a project that focuses on the multidisciplinary nature of your work, and on the relationship and dialogue over time that is established between works deployed in the same space, and with the space itself as a field for experimentation.The title of the show refers to the «I», to you, and to the subject represented by each one of us, and to the relationship of both with the spaces we inhabit.
The goal of the exhibition is to undertake a revision and an open and relational rereading of a part of your production between 2003
and 2019. More specifically, the works closely connected with the architecture in which they are hosted, and which focus on landscape as projection and prolongation of ourselves and constructions. To which we could also add a series of interventions conceived specifically for this project.
En la planta baja las obras se despliegan unas sobre otras, sin muros que las separen, sumando así diferentes franjas / capas estéticas y conceptuales, y niveles de acción. En la primera planta los trabajos se ordenan cronológicamente dispuestos a diferentes alturas siguiendo la estela temporal de «Yo también lo haría». Una línea de tiempo donde además has ido intercalando imágenes de tus cuadernos de trabajo, para de alguna manera poder bucearen el interior de las piezas expuestas, en su conceptualización, ejecución y formalización.
El diseño expositivo funciona así como un viaje de ida y vuelta, sin centro, escalas o hitos, sino más bien todo lo contrario. Una sucesión de momentos, que sumados todos ellos, dibujan un gran espacio emocional, sensorial y vivencial en el que perderse.
On the ground floor, the works are deployed on top of each other, without walls to separate them, thus joining different aesthetic and conceptual layers / strips and different levels of action. On the first floor the works are ordered chronologically, arranged at different heights following the temporal wake of Yo también lo haría. In this timeline you have also interspersed images of your notebooks, in one way so that we can submerge ourselves inside the pieces on exhibit, in their conceptualization, execution and formalization.
The exhibition design functions as a return journey, without a centre, scales or milestones, but rather the contrary. A succession of moments which, when added all together, draw a large emotional, sensorial and experiential space in which to lose oneself.
