Planteado como primer paso y como ejercicio para futuros trabajos en los que mi interés será combinar dibujos murales con piezas exentas -cuerpos regulares e irregulares en los que se repite un mismo patrón-, Here, there and everywhere… no se sitúa en ninguno de los espacios expositivos determinados sobre el plano. Más bien se apropia de un elemento de división -un muro- transformándolo en un objeto dentro de la sala simplemente dibujando sobre él un sinnúmero de rayas paralelas, estableciendo así un diálogo entre arquitectura y escultura, y difuminando al mismo tiempo las fronteras que las separan.
Una superficie vacía se convierte en un paisaje que recorrer física y mentalmente; una línea sinuosa, sin principio ni final, que bordea todo el perímetro de ese muro, describiendo un recorrido e integrando el paseo como elemento de configuración de la obra.

Conceived as a first step and an exercise for future projects in which I will be more focused on combining mural drawings with independent works -regular and irregular bodies repeating the same pattern- Here, there and everywhere… is not rendered on any of the elements marked on the floorplan of the exhibition space. Rather it makes use of an element of division -a partition wall- transforming it into an object within the exhibition hall simply by drawing countless parallel lines on it, thus striking up a dialogue with architecture and sculpture, while at the same time blurring the boundary between them.
A blank surface is turned into a landscape to be explored physically and mentally; a sinuous line without beginning or end that covers the whole perimeter of the wall, outlining a path and integrating the walk-around as a defining element of the work.

Ahora y siempre es el título de un cuerpo geométrico de 2,85 × 8,50 × 0,35 m. Una relectura de mi propio trabajo que tiene como modelo un proyecto de 2004 Here,there and everywhere… donde un simple dibujo a lápiz sobre un elemento arquitectónico se transformaba en una actuación escultórica.
Partiendo de esa primera experiencia, me propuse trasladar el muro intervenido en aquella ocasión a otro emplazamiento, construyendo a escala una nueva obra que se convertiría definitivamente en una escultura autónoma, aunque finalmente también se destruyese.
Ahora y siempre reúne paradójicamente la exactitud y la presencia de las formas minimalistas -acentuadas por la iluminación nítida y diáfana que potencia el montaje- y las referencias a un mundo imaginario. Una escenografía simple y barroca a la vez dentro de la cual el espectador -obligado a recorrer toda la pieza para descubrir el dibujo en su totalidad- percibe y experimenta al mismo tiempo esa forma que como un tótem se levanta en el centro de la sala.

Now and always is the title of a geometric body measuring 2.85 × 8.50 × 0.35 metres. It is a rereading of my own earlier work from 2004 Here, there and everywhere... in which a simple pencil drawing on an architectural element was transformed into a sculptural action.
Based on this earlier experience, I proposed transferring the wall intervened on the aforementioned occasion to another emplacement, building a new scaled work that would become a freestanding sculpture in its own right, even though it too would ultimately be destroyed.
Now and always paradoxically juxtaposes the exactitude and presence of minimalist forms -accentuated by the sharp, bright lighting that enhances the mounting- with references to an imaginary world. A simple yet baroque stage setting within which the spectator -forced to walk around the piece to discover the drawing in its entirety- perceives and at once experiences this form that stands at the centre of the hall like a totem.

Muro, escultura, peana. Las planchas de DM y los listones de madera utilizados para levantar esta segunda versión de Here,there and everywhere… -realizada como parte de la exposición Arquitectura y «Yo»– se cortaron, una vez clausurada la exposición, utilizando como patrón el perímetro de las mesas donde estaban expuestos tus cuadernos de trabajo.
Apiladas sirvieron como base de AYYO (acrónimo de Arquitectura y “Yo”, obra que donaste a la Comunidad de Madrid tras cerrar el proyecto) para depositar sobre ellas parte del material fungible utilizado para la realización de las intervenciones M sobre M, Pastoral, Hole Nº1 (for Adam) y Preludio / Interludio, Idilio / Romance, entre otros restos de la exposición. Sobre el plano y una vez levantada Regreso al hogar funciona como eje transversal, como arquitectura de sala sin serlo, y como elemento que articula el espacio expositivo. Una capa más.

Wall, sculpture, pedestal. Once this exhibition is over, the MDF boards and strips of wood used for this second version of Here there and everywhere cut into the shape of the tops of the tables on which your notebooks were exhibited.
Piled up, these will then serve as the base for AYYO (acronym of Architecture and «I», work that you donated to to the Region of Madrid after closing the project ), on which you deposited part of the expendable material leftover after making works like M over M, Pastoral, Hole No.1 (for Adam) and Prelude/ Interlude, Idill / Romance, among other remains of the exhibition.On the plan, and once installed in place, Homecoming will operate as a transversal axis, as the architecture of the hall without being so as such, and as an element that articulates the exhibition space. As yet another layer.
